Kate Kelsall

Northglenn, Colorado

Kate was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease in 1996. She was 46 years old. Nine years later, she underwent deep brain stimulation (DBS) surgery.

Kate Kelsall has been happily married to Tom Kelsall, also a Hope Digest Parkinson's Disease contributor, for 33 years. She and her husband love experiencing the theater and traveling.

Kate earned a BA from Creighton University, in Omaha, Nebraska, before continuing her education at the University of Wisconsin in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, where she earned a master's of social work. She is a certified public accountant in California and Colorado.

Kate volunteers as a DBS Patient and Family Liaison at the University of Colorado Hospital. She also co-founded a DBS support group in Denver and created her own blog, Shake, Rattle and Roll.
