The mission PDF's mission comprises three main tasks: 1. To advance the understanding of Parkinson's by supporting scientific research of the highest caliber. 2. To provide education and support to people with Parkinson's and their families, and to the professionals who serve them. 3. To champion the interests of the Parkinson's community through advocacy with various external organizations and entities that affect the lives of people with Parkinson's.
Recent Highlights
- Celebrated it's 50th Anniversary by hosting a patient education symposium, including more than 12 hours of online classes that anyone with Internet access could attend. - Created and carried out the first-ever World Parkinson Congress in 2006
How to get involved
Because the PDF is focused on funding research for better treatments and a cure for Parkinson's disease volunteer efforts with the foundation focus around fundraising. If you are interested in helping the PDF raise funds in your community call (212) 923-4700.
