Recent Highlights
The most pressing project at the Muhammad Ali Parkinson Center is its Parkinson's Registry. The center's main goals for its registry are to accelerate the process of informing patients about research projects and clinical trials for which they may be eligible; to track the functional abilities and cost of illness associated with Parkinson's over time; to assess current treatment approaches and develop best-practice guidelines; and finally, to drive the development of innovative research projects. Any individual diagnosed with Parkinson's is eligible to enroll and participation in the Registry is voluntary, confidential, and completely free of charge. In the future, eligible participants will be notified about opportunities to participate in clinical trials, although they are under no obligation to enter. Currently, the Registry has almost 2,000 members internationally and is ever increasing. The center's ultimate goal is to reach 20,000 members.
